EXPERIENCE:

Dr. Kantz has over thirty years of chemistry and polymer physics research experience with Monsanto Research (Mound Laboratory), Shell Development Co., and Congoleum Corporation. He was the Director of Research & Development at Ferro Advanced Composites in Los Angeles and Technical Director at M.C. Gill Corp. in El Monte. He has taught the fourth quarter of General Chemistry 14D-Organic Reactions & Pharmaceuticals at UCLA Extension for the past two summer sessions and is a Chemistry Lecturer at El Camino College in Torrance, CA and Fullerton College in Fullerton, CA. 

Dr. Kantz has a forensic science and engineering consulting practice in Long Beach where he investigates failures of materials and products and provides expert testimony for attorneys and insurance companies.  His typical investigations involve workplace and consumer exposures to chemical and physical hazards, regulatory compliance, labels and warnings, products liability, intellectual property. He earned a Master level certification in hazardous materials management (CHMM). His professional society affiliations include: American Chemical Society, Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals, Materials Research Society, American Society for Testing and Materials, and American Society of Safety Engineers. 

Dr. Kantz and his wife Dr. Kathie Kantz have five sons who have given them nine grandchildren and two Labrador Terriers.
